After months of hard fought litigation including multiple depositions, Kramer Trial Lawyers were able to secure a great result right before trial for a well deserving family who lost a husband, father, and grandfather in a tragic car crash in December 2012.  As described in the Daily Breeze by author Sandy Mazza: Traffic investigators are seeking witnesses to a three-car collision that resulted in the death of an elderly man in Torrance on Tuesday.

Donald Caprio, 85, of Torrance was driving south on Ocean Avenue when his car collided with a westbound delivery truck on Lomita Boulevard at 11:15 a.m., officials said. The truck turned on its side and Caprio’s vehicle careened off of it and into a third car traveling east on Lomita Boulevard.

Investigators were working today to determine the cause of the crash.

“Somebody ran a red light,” Torrance police Sgt. Robert Watt said. “We don’t know yet the primary collision factor. The intersection is controlled with a signal, and it was working properly.”

Caprio suffered head trauma and a broken pelvis, Watt said. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The truck driver sustained only minor injuries, and the driver of the third vehicle was not hurt.
